City Hack Cologne
Together with the Ecosign University for Sustainable Design and the CityLeaks Festival we designed a mobile workshop for everyone. In the seminar “Sustainable Design” students developed a plan for a public workshop, which can be used by the general public to create added value for all. In the period of the CityLeaks Urban Art Festival, this mobile workshop was available to Cologne residents and other interested parties in order to give free rein to their creativity in shaping public space. Urban space exploration was carried out in individual workshop modules, locations for interventions are identified, theoretical background knowledge on sustainable furniture design and urban hacking are taught and built in practical modules and furniture is placed in public space. Are you missing a lounger, flowerbed, or table for a neighborly dinner on your Veedelsplatz? You want to improve your skills in dealing with wood? And you want to help shape your Veedel? (Veedel is Cologne slang for neighborhood)
